Rs50 million approved for Adenzai uplift schemes

TIMERGARA: Adenzai tehsil council on Friday approved Rs50 million for development projects in the area.

The approval was given during the council meeting held at Chakdara with naib nazim Mudat Khan in the chair. Tehsil nazim Qamar Zaman, tehsil municipal officer Pervez Khan and councilors Tausif Umar, Shafiqu1Islam,ImtiazKhan and others attended the meeting.

The members were informed that the council had Rs50 million left in its annual development programme for 2016-17. The council gave approval to various water supply schemes, municipal services and beautification work to be completed with the available funds. The tehsil nazim said that all treasury and opposition members had been provided with equal funds for development.

APPOINTED: District education officer Hafiz Mohammad Ibrahim on Friday issued appointment orders of 20 more primary school teachers with the directives for the appointees to take charge of their duties within 30 days.

A notification issued in this regard said that the appointments had been made on merit. Talking to mediapersons, the DEO said that they were on waiting list and were appointed after 20 previous candidates refused to take charge for various reasons.

Mr Ibrahim claimed that the shortage of teachers at government schools had been overcome in the district.

Meanwhile, a young scholar, Tanveer Shehzad, completed his MPhil research in English literature from the Qurtaba University of Science and Technology, Peshawar. The title of his research was `Theenvironmentalimpacts of the Rime of the Ancient Mariner`. His supervisor was Dr Akbar Ali of the university.
