DERA GHAZI KHAN: A girl died and 34 other personsfainted after eating vermicelli at Sanghi Basti Mitha Sanjarani in the limits of Umarkot Police Station, tehsil Rujhan of district Rajanpur.
During the month of Ramazan, a family had prepared sweet vermicelli at home and stored it in a container.
Unknowingly, a family member placed a pesticide spray bottle inside the same container. Thebottle leaked, contaminating the vermicelli with its poisonous contents.
After consuming the contaminated noodles, 35 members of the family fell critically ill. Among them, one young girl lost her life. The remaining persons were rushed to the Rujhan Sheikh Khalifa Hospital and the District Headquarters Hospital, Rajanpur, in critical condition. Of these, 30 individuals were declared out of danger after treatment while four others were in serious condition.
