Suspect injured `by accomplices during shoot-out`

MUZAFFARGARH: A suspect was injured by his own accomplices during a police encounter in the limits of Azam Chowk police onMonday.

The police said three motorcycle-riding suspects, who had fled after snatching a motorcycle, were intercepted at a bridge.

They opened fire on the police and during the exchange, Juma Khan, one of the suspects, was injured by his accomplices` fire.

The police vehicle was also struck by bullets, but the officers remained unhurt, according to a police spokesperson. Theother suspects who fired at the police fled. The injured suspect was shifted to the Layyah District Headquarters Hospital.

Police claimed the injured man was involved in multiple robberies, including the theft of a mobile phone, motorcycle and cash from a policeman.

Juma Khan is also accused of injuring civilians during robberies when theyresisted. Heisbelieved to be involved in over 10 serious crimes, including robberies and other violent incidents.

Police claimed that raids were being conducted to arrest the remaining suspects, and they would be arrested soon.INJURED: A three-yearold child was seriously injured after being bitten by a pet dog in Kot Sultan area of Paharpur on Monday.

Zareen was playing at home when the dog attacked her and caused deep wounds on her mouth.

The child was rushed to the Layyah DHQ Hospital.

KIDNAPPED GIRL RECOVERED: A girl kidnapped from Sheikhupura district was recovered by police from the bed of the Indus.

Three days ago, during an open court held by District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Hasnain Haider in Jatoi tehsil, a family from Sheikhupurasaid that their daughter had been abducted. Acting on the complaint, DPO Haider directed Jatoi Station House Officer Anzar Sukhera to take immediate action. Sukhera and his team conducted an operation, successfully rescuing the girl from her captors.

According to the SHO, the girl had been kidnapped by a group of men residing in the middle of the Indus. After the rescue, the girl was safely returned to her family. On Monday, the parents, accompanied by their daughter, visited the police office and thanked DPO Syed Hasnain Haider and the Jatoi police.
