`Robber` shot dead by shopkeeper in Korangi

KARACHl: A suspected robber was shot dead by a shopkeeper in Korangi on Saturday, police said.

The Zaman Town police said that three muggers arrived at a shop in Bhittai Colony and demanded cash from the shopkeeper.

However, the shopkeeper pulled out his pistol and resorted to firing, resulting in bullet injuries to one suspect while his two accomplices managed to escape on foot, leaving behind their motorbike.

They said that the wounded suspect was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he died.

His identity could not be ascertained till late in the night.

The police also impounded the motorbike and started investigations.

Man shot dead in Cattle Colony A young man was shot dead in Cattle Colony late on Friday night, police said.

They added that 27-year-old Kamran Asghar was gunned down by unidentified assailants on 10 Number Road in Cattle Colony in Landhi.

Sukkan SHO Zubair Nawaz said the victim was talking to his father-in-law over the cell phone when armed motorcyclists arrived outside his pen. Sensing danger, the victim ran for shelter in the cattle pen when one armed assailant opened fire on him. The milkman suffered a bullet wound in the back that proved fatal.
