2018-10-05
RAWALPINDI: PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi, who is serving a life sentence in the ephedrine smuggling case, was moved to the Lahore District Jail from Attock jail on Thursday.

According to sources, the former MNA has been moved to Lahore for a medical check up as the Attock jail does not have the required medical facilities.

He said the jailin Lahore to which he was moved is close to the main government hospitals and that it will be more convenient for conducting medical checkups.

He said Hanif Abbasi will be brought back to Attock when advised by the medical team.

The PML-N leader was housed in Adiala jail when he was first arrested and was moved to the jail in Attock after the incident of `leaked` photos were circulated on social media in which he appeared to be talking to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in the office of the jail superintendent.

A two-member committee was formed to probe into how a convicted prisoner was allowed to sit with Nawaz in the office of the jail superintendent. Staff Reporter
