Man killed during robbery in Pindi

RAWALPINDI: Robbers and thieves struck at more than 40 locations in the garrison city, killing a man and snatching 15 motorcycles, mobile phones, gold jewel1ery and a handsome amount of money.

Zainul Abideen was shot and killed by robbers when he attempted to overpower them during a robbery at his shop.

Abadullah Shah complained to the Naseerabad police that his nephew Zainul Abideen and he were sitting at their shop whentwo persons entered the shop while their two accomplices stayed outside with their motorcycle.

He said one of the intruders held his nephew at gunpoint and demanded cash.

He said when his nephew refused to give the cash they shot and injured him.

He said he shifted the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) where he died early in the morning.

Nasir Khan complained to the police that he was on his way home when three persons came on a motorcycle and held him at gunpoint.He said the robbers snatched his mobile phone worth Rs50,000 and Rs10,000 in cash and escaped.

Zain Khalid, a resident of Naseerabad, was robbed of cash and mobile phone by two robbers. Two mobile phones worth Rs530,000 of Khalid Mehmood were stolen in Naseerabad while Inam Noor complained to the Civil Lines police that some thieves broke into his office and stole away Rs1.8 million and cameras.

Dr Nadeem Minhas complained to Rawat police that he was attending patients at his clinic when three per-sons came and held him and his nursing staf f at gunpoint.

He said the robbers deprived them of cash and mobile phones and escaped.

He further said that the robbers also took away his motorcycle parked outside the clinic.

Bilal Jhangeer, Tariq Mehmood, Waqar Tahir, Mohammad Adnan, Akash Masih, Inzimamul Haq, Abid Hussain, Anwarul Haq, Mohammad Zaman, Mohammad Sadique, Syed Shahbaz Hussain, Mohsin Ali, Saglain Qamar, Yasir Waqas and Syed Atif were deprived of their motorcycles.
