LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) enforcement teams launched a crackdown across Shahdara, Park View, Railway Road, and surrounding areas, sealing three food units and imposing hefty fines totaling Rs250,000 on two others.
During the targeted operation, food safety officials discarded over 40kg substandard meat and hazardous Chinese salt. A famous breakfast restaurant, a popular Sajji house, and a fruit preserve (Murabba) manu-facturing unit were completely sealed due to severe sanitary violations.
Additionally, a wellknown restaurant was slapped with a Rs2OO,000 fine for continuously defying previous improvement instructions issued by the authority.
PFA DG Syed Musa Raza revealed details about the raids, stating that inspection teams discovered live frogs and various insects inside the production areas. The premises were found operating under highly unhygienic conditions, having open drains, foul odors, fungus-infested freezers.
