LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Aalia Neelum on Saturday inaugurated a multi-storey building housing 26 courtrooms, marking a major expansion of the high court’s judicial infrastructure.
LHC senior puisne judge Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh also attended the inauguration ceremonies along with Justice Sadagat Ali Khan, Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi, Justice Faisal Zaman Khan, Justice Mirza vigas Rauf and others.
The newly-constructed building comprises a ground floor, eight upper floors and two basement levels, says a statement.
With 42 courts already functioning at the LHC, the addition of 26 courts in the new building has increased the court’s judicial capacity. Both basement floors have been designated for parking vehicles of the high court judges.
A modern conference room has also been established on one floor, while two floors have been allocated for judicial record rooms. The building also includes cafeteria facilities for high court employees and police personnel.
