MOHMAND: The district administration has launched an initiative to expand sports facilities for young people in line with the directives of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
The initiative envisages developing two cricket pitches and a volleyball court in each of the eight tehsils of Mohmand.
Other cricket facilities will include prepared pitches, levelled grounds, bats, balls and wickets, while volleyball courts will be provided with nets, balls and other necessary equipment.
As part of the first phase, two cricket grounds and two volleyball courts have already been completed in the Halimzai tehsil.
An official of the district administration said the facilities were intended to provide young people with accessible opportunities for sports and recreation and encourage them to engage in healthy, productive and constructive activities. The project is scheduled to be completed by December.
Officials said the initiative was part of the provincial government’s good governance and public welfare agenda, aimed at promoting sports, healthy lifestyles and positive engagement among the youth. Correspondent
