Alpuri council condemns Indian aggression

SHANGLA: Tehsil Council Alpuri on Wednesday passed a unanimous resolution condemning Indian aggression in held Kashmir and unprovoked firing across the Line of Control. The sitting was chaired by convener Shaukat Ali.

The resolution was passed unanimously by all the council members from both the opposition and treasury.

On the occasion, opposition leader Ajab Khan along with other opposition members extended all-out cooperation to the tehsil nazim in running affairs of the union councils with consensus.

Tehsil nazim Mohammad Tahir Khan welcomed the cooperation and said it showed opposition leader`s trust on the performance of the PML-led council. He promised to take concrete steps for development of all the areas on an equal basis.

On the occasion, Ajab Khan said the district administration must ensure presence of line department officials in the council meetings.

Javed Khan, a treasury member, said Pir Khana union council was badly affected due to rains but regretted that restoration work on infrastructure was yet to be resumed.

Arif Khan, another member, urged contractors to complete under-construction projects as soon as possible and use quality material. Another councillor Mazhar Ali lamented that work on the approved playground at Lelonai area had not yet started.

He complained that teachers were not performing duty in some areas of the tehsil.

Jehan Rokhan said a teacher had removed 10 students from the local high school, and asked the education department to take action against him. Correspondent
