SHEIKHUPURA: Four Tableeghi Jamaat activists were killed while 20 others sustained injuries in a pile-up early on Thursday near Faizpur interchange.

Reports said a rashly driven truck collided with a Raiwind-bound coaster. Both the vehicles overturned while a bus carrying Tableeghi Jamaat activists hit the truck and coaster. As a result of which Jehanzeb, Abdul Waheed, Jahi Gul and Muhammad were killed on the spot and 20 suffered wounds.

The injured were shifted to Mayo Hospital, Lahore.

POLICE TORTURE: A 20-year-old youth, Sajid Ali, was allegedly tortured to death by City Muridke ASI in police custody on Thursday.

Bashir, father of Sajid Ali, told the media that ASI Babar had taken his son into custody in a theft case. He alleged the ASI tortured Ali to death.

Police are investigating the matter on the instructions of DPO.
