KARACHI, May 8: A stateof-the-art emergency department has been completed in the National Institute of Child Health (NICH) and it would be formally opened on Thursday (today).
`We have got upgraded our emergency department, which has started catering to the newborns, but it is going to formally start functioning from Thursday,` NICH director Dr Jamal Raza said at a briefing in his office on Wednesday.
He said that the hospital received at least 400 emergency cases daily, half of them belonged to the rest of Pakistan.He said earlier there were 16 beds in the emergency department, which had now been increased to 48 and would exceed to 55 soon.
