RAWALPINDI: In line with the Punjab government’s directives, the city traffic police have launched a crackdown on wheelie doers.

The move came about after it was noticed that rickshaw drivers had also started doing wheelie on Murree Road after Sehri. Motorcycle riders have continuously been doing wheelie on all busy roads in the city.

City Traffic Officer Yousuf Ali Shahid said a crackdown had been launched against those involved in the dangerous activity. Anyone found involved in wheelie would be booked under section 99-A of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance, he added.

The CTO said special squads had been formed and directed to arrest all those found involved in the activity.

The special squads will set up check points on different roads to keep an eye on wheelie doers at Sehri and Iftar. — Staff Reporter
