NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: Police on Tuesday booked six suspects and arrested two of them, a couple, after recovering three allegedly kidnapped women from their custody in Mehrabpur town a few days ago.

Mehrabpur SHO Allah Wadhayo Pitafi told the media that Ghulam Nabi Bhatti and his wife Salma Bhatti were arrested for their involvement in women trafficking along with four other suspects, Aalam Khatoon, Ghulam Rasool, Qurban Chachar and Mohammed Bukhsh Chachar. “The couple will be produced before a magistrate tomorrow,” he said.

The three recovered women were kidnapped in Lahore and taken to Mehrabpur town for sale and eventual prostitution business, according to the police.

Meanwhile, another woman, Komal Batool, 40, arrived at the police station on Tuesday and lodged an FIR against Ghulam Nabi Bhatti, stating that she had also been kidnapped by him in Imamia Colony, Lahore, and sold to Ghulam Rasool and Qurban Chachar for Rs80,000 about eight months ago through Aalam Khatoon.
