KARACHI: The Academic Council meeting of the University of Karachi (KU) on Tuesday approved admissions policy for 2027, along with the commencement of the new academic year from Dec 15, 2026.
KU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Tufail chaired the meeting, which also held detailed deliberations on several important academic and administrative matters. The council decided to defer the implementation of affiliated college examinations under the biannual system for one year.
In this regard, it was also resolved to constitute a committee comprising faculty members of KU and affiliated colleges. This committee will prepare its recommendations within three months and present them at the next meeting of the council.
It is pertinent to mention that, from the coming year, examinations of affiliated colleges will be conducted under the semester system.-APP
