KARACHI: Cold winds from Quetta enveloped the metropolis On Sunday, causing the mercury to drop to nine degrees centigrade, said a meteorological department official, adding that similar weather conditions were expected on Monday.
Responding to Dawn queries, the official said that the maximum temperature recorded in the city on Sunday was 27 degrees centigrade and humidity was 30 per cent.
He added that weather in the city on Monday was expected to remain cold and dry and the minimum temperature was expected to remain between nine and 11 degrees centigrade.
The minimum temperature recorded in Quetta on Sunday was minus seven degrees centigrade, whereas the minimum temperature recorded in Kalat, located between Karachi and Quetta, was minus four degrees centigrade.
