Sense of security vital for prosperity, says Balochistan governor

QUETTA: Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has emphasised the urgent need for peace and stability in the province.
He stated a truly prosperous society can only thrive in a secure environment.
Given the current sensitive situation, the government`s responsibilities have increased, particularly in ensuring people`s safety.
In a meeting with the Balochistan inspector general of police, Moazzam Jah Ansari, he highlighted that crime and terrorism were distinct challenges requiring separate strategies.
He stressed that effective policing, with strong public cooperation, was essential to achieve the goal of a peaceful Balochistan.
Mr Mandokhail underscored the strategic importance of national highways for the country`s development.
`These roads are vital for commuters, transporters and patients and must remain open and secure for unrestricted movement,` he added.
He called upon political leaders, civil society, and journalists to make collective efforts to ensure a stable and prosperous Balochistan where every citizen has the opportunity to progress.
The meeting was also attended by Special Secretary Home Department Abdul Nasir Dotani, Quetta DIG Atizaz Goraya and Principal Secretary to the Governor Hashim Khan Ghilzai.
