REFERENCE the news item, `NAB opens cases against Sindh govt officials` (May 31). The National Accountability Bureau is a national organisation which conducts its business without any geographical or ethnic considerations. NAB`s enforcement processes are purely based upon the merit of each case and are pursued against the accused in a fair and transparent manner.
As for plea bargain, it is a legal instrument available under the existing law. In this case it was offered by a contractor, who was held responsible for carrying out defective work in a project.
