Five smuggled vehicles impounded, as many arrested

SUKKUR: Khanpur Mahar police arrested five persons and recovered as many vehicles smuggled from abroad on Tuesday in raids on different villages.
On a tip-off about the alleged illegal vehicles, Khanpur Mahar police station SHO Mithal Khakhrani along with heavy contingents of personnel took action.
Police cordoned off the villages of Shahan Mangi and Gulbahar Mangi and conducted a house-to-house search.
Two vehicles were recovered from the house of Hameed Mangi in the village of Shahan Mangi while three cars seized from Sarwar Mangi in the village of Gulbahar Mangi. Police impounded all five vehicles — a Corolla, Swift, Cultus and two Vitz cars — and kept them at Khanpur Mahar police station.
The arrested were identified as Imran Mangi, Arz Mohammad Mangi, Hameed Mangi, Bengal Mangi and one other.
When contacted, the Khanpur Mahar SHO told reporters that first ownership of the impounded vehicles would be investigated. No case was registered till the filing of this report.

Weather turned pleasant after spring rain showers along with a thunder storm in the evening on Tuesday in Sukkur, Rohri, Salehpat, Kandhra and other adjoining areas.
