Col Qadar new commandant of Bajaur Scouts

KHAR: The people of Bajaur Agency would soon see a significant improvement in the law and order situation, said Col Rehman Qadar, the newly-appointed commandant of Bajaur Scouts, here on Thursday.

Col Qadar replaced Col Nayyar Zaman in a ceremony held at the Bajaur Scouts Headquarters here.

Sector commander of Pakistan Army North Command Brig Amir Kiani, political agent Abdul Amir Khattak, tribal elders and local political leaders attended the ceremony.

On this occasion, Col Zaman handed over the command stick to Col Qadar. Speaking at the function, the new commandant said that he would continue the policy of his predecessor to keep an exemplary peace in the agency with the support of local people.

He said that he would develop friendly relationship with the people, tribal elders and political and religious leaders of the agency. He said that good working relations with the residents was necessary to maintain normalcy in the agency.

He asked the elders and political leaders to support the security forces and the administration. The outgoing commandant praised the local people for their commitment to peace and normalcy in their areas.
