Major reshuffle continues in LDA

LAHORE: In a bid to improve service delivery by reducing public complaints, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has transferred nearly 137 officers and officials and posted them to other positions.

The reshuffles, which started on Sept 1, continue as 10 directors have been transferred on Thursday.

‘Most officers and officials were transferredonthebasisoftheirlongtenure on the same positions, affecting quick service delivery. Similarly, some were not working to the satisfaction of top management,’ an LDA officer told Dawn on Thursday.’So, this all forced the LDA Director General to take the decision and reshuffle the officers and officials,’ he said, adding that the officers, who had been transferred and posted, belonged to town planning, metropolitan planning, urban development and engineering, housing, administration and other wings.

According to documents, as many as 50 officers were transferred on Sept 1, followed by 18 more on Sept 2 and another 19 on Sept 4. On Sept 7, two officers were transferred and 31 were transferred on Sept 8. Five were transferred on Sept 9, while 10 faced a similar situation on Thursday.

‘In coming days, more transfers are expected,’ the official added.
