KOHAT: The district judiciary has introduced an e-process serving system, a dedicated mobile application and efficient web-based dashboard, to ensure transparency and quick service delivery.
To facilitate the system’s implementation, updated phones, along with official mobile numbers/SIMs, have been provided to the process serving agency of the district courts, as well as the concerned staff of tehsil courts, Lachi. Officials have been fully educated on the application’s use.
A statement issued here said the app, developed by Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST), would help improve delivery of sum-mons, notices and other court-related decrees.
The app is a step to transform justice delivery. The initiative was taken under the guidance, vision and supervision of Sofia Waqar Khattak, District & Sessions Judge, Kohat, to ensure an enhanced mechanism for improving efficiency and transparency of judicial administration.
The app would facilitate the process serving agency in the electronic management, monitoring and reporting of service of court processes.
A notable feature of the application is the incorporation of time-stamp and location-based functionalities, enabling the service activity to be digitally recorded and monitored.
The effort would ensure an effective mechanism of checks and bal-ances for the process serving agency and enhanced accountability in the service of court processes.
Furthermore, the system is expected to bring substantial improvement in cases pending at the attendance/service stage, as timely and verifiable service of summons is a basic component of expeditious disposal of cases. The web-based dashboard would provide insight for supervisory authorities with a centralised mechanism to monitor the progress of process-serving activities and identify delays, if any.
The initiative reflects the district judiciary’s commitment to embracing modern technology and introducing innovative measures to make justice delivery faster, more transparent, accountable and citizen-friendly.
