Two Bajaur Levies men injured in blast

KHAR: Two Bajaur Levies men were injured when a bomb planted along a road went off in Mamond tehsil here on Monday, political administration officials and local people said.

They said the personnel were on a routine search on a link road in the hilly area of Niaag, some 12kms from Khar, when an explosive device went off near them.

According to the local administration officials, the bomb was detonated by a remote control.

The officials said both the personnel identified as Mohammad Zada and Saddam Khan received multiple injuries and were taken to the agency headquarters hospital, Khar, where their condition was stated to be out of danger. After the blast, personnel of security forces and Bajaur Levies along with local people mounted a hunt for the attackers but no arrest was made till Monday evening.

However, local people said several residents of nearby localities had been detained under the collective responsibility clause of the Frontier Crimes Regulation.

No one claimed responsibility for the attack, nor did the administration blame anyone for the blast.-Correspondent
