ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) of Islamabad on Wednesday dismissed the petition of Mian Tariq Mehmood, the prime suspect in the judge video scandal, seeking post arrest bail.

Mehmood was arrested from Islamabad in July 2019 on charges of making objectionable video of former Islamabad accountability court judge Mohammad Arshad Malik.

Judge Malik sentenced Nawaz Sharif to seven years in jail in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills reference in December 2018.

Mehmood was seeking bail on medical grounds. ATC judge Raja Jawad Abbas Hassan concluded the proceeding on the post arrest bail of Mehmood earlier this week after his counsel as well as the prosecution of the federal investigation agency (FIA) presented their arguments.
