MUZAFFARGARH: In the Chowk Sarwar Shaheed locality of Kot Addu district, a violent fight over a land dispute between two groups claimed one life while injuring two others, the police said.

The incident occurred in Chak 548 of the Thal Development Authority.

According to sources, the land dispute involved local Christian and Pathan familles, and Shahbaz Masih was killed, with two others seriously injured.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Syed Riaz Bukhari said that the Chowk Sarwar police had registered a case againstWali Khan, Kareem, and their accomplices under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code while the postmortem examination report was awaited. He said no suspect had yet been arrested.

SDPO Bukhari suspended Assistant Subinspector Mul(htar Hussain for negligence as he had overlooked Christians` complaints against Wali Khan and Kareem Khan two days ago. He said his timely intervention could have averted the tragic incident. The injured people, one of whom was identified as Munir Masih, were shifted to the Chowk Sarwar Shaheed Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for treatment.
