SARGODHA: Police claimed to have solved the mystery of the murder of an unidentified woman with the help of Nadra and arrested her husband for the murder.
According to the police, the Bhalwal City Police found the body of an unidentified woman in a canal with her throat slit with a sharp instrument on May 9. There was no evidence or clue at the scene regarding the identity of the victim.
On the instructions of SargodhaDPOMuhammad Sohaib Ashraf, the Bhalwal City Police started investigations and after obtaining her fingerprints, her family tree was extracted from the Nadra record. The victim was identified asFaryal Bibi, daughter of Muhammad Khan, a resident of Chak No 6 Phularwan.
The police summoned the victim’s husband Ahsan and interrogated him. During interrogation, police claimed that Ahsan confessed that he had killed his wife along with his brother Farman and dumped the body in the canal with the intention of hiding the crime.
The brothers were arrested for the crime.
Police claimed that during investigation it was revealed that the suspect wanted to get married again, which was why he killed his wife and married another woman the next day.
Police said the murder weapon had been recovered from the accused and further investigation was underway.
