SHEIKHUPURA: A team led by District Coordination Officer (DCO) Kiran Khursheed unearthed an illegal slaughterhouse, arrested two butchers and seized 282kg of dead animal meat on Saturday.
The DCO conducted a raid on a tip-off that some butchers had set up an unauthorised slaughterhouse in Basti Balochan, which had been functional for several years.
Accompanied by law enforcers and health department officials, the DCO raided the slaughterhouse and caught butchers Bilal and Ilyas red-handed besides seizing 282kg of dead animal meat.
Three other butchers involved in the business were not present and would be arrested soon, the DCO claimed.
