GUJRAT: Former federal minister and PML-N MNA from Gujranwala, Chaudhry MehmoodBashir Virk, was laid to rest at his native graveyard near Gakhar Mandi on Saturday.
Mr Virk (88) had died on Friday in a private hospital of Lahore after aprolonged illness.
Thefuneralprayers of five-time MNA Mr Virk were offered at the ground of Gujranwala Intermediate and Secondary Education Board along the Sialkot bypass.
Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarrar, former federal minister Khurram Dastgeer Khan, adviser to Punjab chief minister Zeeshan Malik, G u j r a n w a 1 a C o m m i s s i o n e r Muhammad Ali, PML-N lawmakers fromGujranwala region, officers of civil administration, political workers and people from all walks of life attended the funeral prayers.
Renowned religious scholar Sahibzada Saqib Raza Mustafai led the funeral prayers.
The senior PML-N leadership have condoled the demise of the MNA and eulogised his services rendered for the party and the people of Gujranwala and appreciated his longstanding loyalty and commitment to the party.
