Doctors seek service structure

2017-05-14
PESHAWAR: Provincial Doctors Association president Dr Amir Taj has urged the government to implement service structure for the doctors and fill the vacant posts on merit.

Speaking at a press conference at Peshawar Press Club on Saturday, the PDA chief said that the government was yet to implement the service structure for the general cadre, specialist cadre and dental cadre which had created unrest among the doctors.

Accompanied by other PDA office-bearers, Dr Taj demanded of the health department to fill the posts of bed managers with professional and trained doctors in different hospitals.

He also urged the government to approve scholarships for the post-diploma in pathology, anaesthesia and radiology departments to mitigate problems of the doctors.

He said that service of doctors working on contract should be regularised.

Dr Taj advised his community to avoid groupings and said that the issues being faced by the doctors would be resolved through a joint struggle. Bureau Report
