Eight injured in cylinder blast

LAHORE: Eight people were injured when a gas cylinder at a makeshift tea stall exploded in a cattle market in Saggian on Sunday.

Police said that people were busy purchasing sacrificial animals when the gas cylinder exploded with a big bang, injuring eight people.

Rescue 1122 personnel shifted the injured to Mian Munshi Hospital where they were said to be out of danger.

The injured were identified as Abid, Tariq, Sattar, Fiaz, Saeed, Shoaib, Munir and Kashif.

Hospital sources said all the victims received minor injuries and were sent homes after giving them the first aid.

KILLED: A young motorcyclist was killed when a truck hit him on a service lane of Ring Road in Shadbagh police precinct late on Saturday night.

Police said Fahad, 20, of Bhagatpura, was shifted to a nearby hospital in a critical condition where he could not survive.

Police shifted the body to a city morgue for an autopsy and registered a case against the absconding driver.
