ISLAMABAD: National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR) chairman Justice retired Ali Nawaz Chohan has said that Mina stampede tragedy and six other human rights cases are being investigated by the commission.
Talking to APP here on Sunday, Justice Chohan said that the case was related to the Ministry of Religious Af fairs and Interfaith Harmony which also includes selection of Khudam-ulHujjaj and steps taken for welfare of minorities.
Over 100 Pakistani Haj pilgrims were among hundreds of other pilgrims 1(illed in the Mina stampede tragedy in September last year.
He appealed to the people to register their complaints directly to the commission against human rights violation.
He said that the organisation had been set up to improve human rights situation in the country and to ensure basic facilities to everyone at their doorsteps without any discrimination.
Referring to the Kasur children abuse case, the chairman said 18 culprits had been identified and arrested so far while investigation was still under way.-APP
