QUETTA: Journalists boycotted the budget session of the Balochistan Assembly and staged a demonstration against torture of a local journalist working with Voice of America (VOA) here on Monday.

Security guards of Sheikh Zayed Hospital beat up Murtaza Said Zehri when he visited the hospital in connection with a story.

Members of Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ) walked out of the Balochistan Assembly`s press gallery when budget speech was started in the house. They gathered outside the assembly building and blocked Zarghoon Road.

They chanted slogans against the Sheikh Zayed Hospital`s administration and demanded immediate dismissal of hospital`s medical superintendent and security guards.-Staff Correspondent
