RAWALPINDI: The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Cell conducted an operation on Tuesday against overseas employment firms for illegally processing passports.
A senior FIA official said fines were imposed on three overseas employment promoters for negligence since they had detained several passports without justification for long. He said this was the first time that an employment promoter had been fined on public complaint.
According to the official, Almunir International Overseas firm was fined Rs50,000 and Kainat Overseas Employment Firm was fined Rs25,000. Legal proceedings were initiated against Al-Jabal Overseas Employment Promoters.-Staff Reporter
