Azam Khan appointed KP chief secretary

PESHAWAR: Mohammad Azam Khan, an officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), was appointed chief secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday.

A notification by the establishment division said that Mohammad Azam Khan, BS-21 of PAS, currently serving as additional chief secretary of KP, had been transferred and posted as chief secretary with immediate effect. Mr Khan was already looking after the affairs of chief secretary’s office since Aug 27 after Abid Saeed’s retirement as chief secretary on Aug 18.

Azam Khan has served as additional chief secretary Fata, secretary sports, tourism and youth affairs, secretary home and tribal affairs and as commissioner Peshawar in the past. Sources said that the provincial government had asked the federal government to appoint Mr Khan as the chief secretary.—Bureau Report
