KARACHI: Bharati Air Force squadrons are busy practising dive-bombing, strafing, and also night bombing of targets, specially railway tracks, Dawn reliably learns. It is stated that these practice operations are being carried out day and night with an intensity which is inconsistent with ordinary routine practice. Most of these practice operations are being carried out on dummy railway tracks.
It may be recalled that the Bharat Prime Minister, Mr Nehru, has lately been declaring in season and out of season that there will no war between Bharat and Pal(istan. It is pointed out that the military build-up of Bharat armed forces on the borders of Pakistan, which are still continuing and particularly these realistic intense and unusual exercise by the Bharati Air Force, ill-accord with Mr. Nehru’s declarations.
Knowledgeable circles completely discount the sincerity of Mr Nehru’s statements that there will be no war, because the activities of his armed forces, they maintain, point to another direction. They feel that Mr Nehru is really trying to lull the world as well as Pal(istan into a false sense of security by his pacific declarations. Staff correspondent
