Vets called for sacrificial animals in cattle market

KARACHI: With arrival of 65,000 sacrificial animals at the temporary cattle market of f Superhighway, the administration has asked some 30 veterinaries for regular check-up of the cattle, and keep an eye on every herd arrival before it enters into the market.

A spokesman for the Sohrab Goth cattle market, Khurram Jaffrani, said in a statement that the facility spread over 2,000 acres was expecting the pace of arrival of more animals as well customers growing in the next few days.

Considering the estimates of the total animals, it said, the management had already improved availability of all essential items to the traders at their spots, including water, food and all other related materials.

`With induction of 30 veterinaries, the medical check on animals` health has further been enhanced,` said the statement.

`Any herd of animal with a suspicion of any illness even in one of the animals leads to return of whole herd. There`s no compromise on health of animals and the message was sent to all traders very loud and clear. It is very first and last priority of the cattle market administration to provide healthy animals and safe and secure environment to the people.

`For last 20 years, cattle market is being set up off Sohrab Goth, but it is for the first time that a food street is being set up for the visitors where they can enjoy high quality, delicious and economical food,` market administrator Muzaff ar Hassan said.
