MANSEH RA: Three robbers on Wednesday gunned down a woman on resistance in a Parain village here.

Relative Mohammad Gulab told reporters that robbers barged into his brother`s house in Mehmooda at around sehar and held his wife, Razia Bibi, at gunpoint.

He said when the woman raised alarm, robbers opened fire at her, killing her instantly.

Mohammad Gulab said he was present in the other room of the house at the time of the murder and soon after hearing gunshots, he stepped out and saw robbers escape.

Later, the body was taken to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital, where doctors autopsied it before handing it over to the family af ter fulfilling formalities.

The Saddar police registered an FIR and began investigation.

ONE DIES IN ACCIDENT: A young man was killed and another suffered injuries when a speeding car hit a motorcycle they were riding in Oghi area.

The car driver fled after the accident.

Local residents said Hasnain and his friend Mohammad Noman were critically injured in the accident and that Hasnain succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.

The Darband police registered a case against the unidentified car driver and began investigation.

However, no arrest was made by night.

PML-N TO FORM DISTRICT GOVT: Former provincial minister and PML-N candidate for the district nazim`s office, Akhtar Hussain Shah, on Wednesday claimed his party would install the district government in Mansehra.

`We are in a position to form our district government with the support of JUI-F, Jamaat-i-Islami and a group of independent councillors,` he told reporters in Dodial here.

JUI-F district councillor-elect Mohammad Nawaz Khan was also present on the occasion. Correspondent
