PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has expressed serious concerns over what he calls the indifference of federal government to transfer of development funds for tribal districts and payment of met hydel profit (NHP) arrears to the province.

Chairing a meeting, he said that provincial government would exercise all the political, constitutional and legal options to get due rights of the province, according to a statement.

The meeting discussed National Finance Commission award, arrears of NHP andfederaltransfers.

Mr Khan said that noncompliance with the commitments made by the federal government regarding provision of development funds for the current fiscal year was badly affecting the development programmes of the province, especially in tribal districts.

He said that federal government was reluctant in providing development funds to provincial government for tribal districts as per its commitment. It was sheer injustice with the people of tribal districts, he added.-Bureau Report
