KARACHI: A 44-year-old man was shot and critically wounded by his friend in a restaurant in Korangi on Friday, police and rescuers said.
They added that the victim, Mohammed Ahmed Khan, was called by the assailant to a restaurant near Nasir Jump, PNT Colony.
According to the police, the two persons sat there for a considerably long time before the suspect shot Mr Khan on his head and fled. The victim was admitted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.
A card found from his pocket showed that he was affiliated with a local human rights organisation. However, Korangi SHO Amin Solangi said that the incident had nothing to do with his activism.
The SHO said the police had got significant clues about the identity and motive of the suspect.
