Four more `facilitators` of blast arrested

LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of police on Thursday claimed to have arrested four more suspects who acted as facilitators of Feb 13 Charing Cross blast in the provincial capital.

At least 15 people, including seven policemen, were killed and 110 injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up on The Mall during a protest of chemists against Drug Act.

On Feb 17, the law enforcement agencies had arrested one of the facilitators of the terrorists involved in the blast, identified as Anwaarul Haq, who confessed to be the handler of the suicide bomber.

A CTD spokesman said they raided a house near Darbar Shah Muhammad Ghaus on Circular Road on pointation of the main suspect and arrested four suspected militants. The arrested suspects were identified as Irfan Khan, Attaur Rehman and Imam Shah of Mohmand Agency and Abdullah of Bajaur Agency.

He said hand grenades, explosive material, prima cord, electric detonators and circuits used for making suicide vests were recovered from the suspects.-Reporter
