BANNU: Two women were killed, and a man was injured when rival groups allegedly exchanged fire in the Mambati Barkzai area of Bannu district on Wednesday, police said.
According to a report lodged by one of the parties, accused Mahmood, Momin and Bakhtullah allegedly entered a house and opened fire, killing Noshaida, daughter of Sher Bahadur, and Shazia, daughter of Noor Muqarrab Khan.
The report stated that the incident was linked to a murder dispute. Noor Aslam, son of Sher Bahadur, lodged the complaint against the three suspects.
Meanwhile, the injured man, Mahmood, told police that Noor Aslam, Ayub and Asim, residents of Mambati Barkzai, opened fire on him, leaving him injured.
Miryan police have launched an investigation into the incident on the basis of statements and reports submitted by both parties.
