DHAKA: Bangladesh will tour Nepal for a T20 series in March dedicated to victims of devastating floods in the host Himalayan nation, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said on Wednesday.
The three-match series, Bangladesh’s first bilateral tour of Nepal, will be played in Kathmandu on March 26, 28 and 30, the BCB said.
Announcing the tour, the national cricket board ‘expressed its sympathy for the victims of the devastating floods and recognised the significance of dedicating the series to their memory’.
The August 26 flooding, triggered by a glacial mountain collapse on the China-Nepal border, killed more than 1,400 people in Nepal and Tibet. More than 5,000 people are still missing in Nepal.
The two teams have met twice before, at the T20 World Cup in 2014 and again in 2024, with Bangladesh winning both encounters.-AFP
