SUKKUR: Employees of Sukkur district council continued their protest and token hunger strike on the third consecutive day on Thursday in protest against the administration`s failure to pay them salary for the past 17 months.
The protesters` leaders said that their families were facing starvation and they would not be able to buy anything for their children and families for the forthcoming Eid.
They complained that no official of the Sindh government, nor district administration and not even any elected public representative had so far taken any notice of their continuous protest and none of them had bothered to visit their camp.
They appealed to the Sindh chief minister, chief secretary and other high authorities concerned to take pity on their plight and immediately order release of their salary before the Eid.
