LAHORE: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Thursday inaugurated the electric bus service in Multan.
The chief minister boarded an electric bus from the e-bus stop established at Agro Mall on Shujaabad Road and travelled to the venue of the ceremony at Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture.
The chief minister received a warm public welcome on Old Shujaabad Road, where thousands of children, youngsters, students and elderly citizens gathered to greet her. She launched the bus project through a digital ceremony.Addressing the ceremony, she said a cancer treatment hospital would be established in every division of Punjab.
She rejected allegations of financial wrongdoing in development projects, saying she spent public money after careful consideration and did not work to satisfy vloggers. ‘Billions of rupees worth of projects are under way. I swear before Allah that not a single rupee has been embezzled,’ she said.
She also highlighted the anti-corruption drive, claiming that around 600 policemen had been arrested for taking bribe in recent days and that officials from the revenue department and AntiCorruption Establishment had also been arrested.
