SIALKOT: In 2007, then district nazim Akmal Cheema opened a water filtration plant at the Government Postgraduate College for Women, Daska.The facility provided water to 3,200 students for a few weeks and then went out of order.

Both the college management and the Daska Tehsil Mu n icip a1 Administration lack funds for the restoration and maintenance of the plant.

Though, the college provides potable water to students from a nearby filtration plant, it has not taken any measure for the rehabilitation of its own plant.Local residents have expressed concern over the issue and demanded that Gujranwala Commissioner retired Capt Muhammad Asif and Sialkot District Coordination Of ficer Dr Asif Tufail to ensure the working of the plant.
