ISLAMABAD: Minister for Narcotics Control Shehryar Khan Afridi claimed again on Thursday that the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) had sufficient proof in the narcotics case against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Rana Sanaullah.
`It is unfortunate that media trial of the government and ANF has been started and every day I hear criticism on television channels as to why proof is not submitted against Rana Sanaullah,` he said during a meeting of the National Assembly`s Standing Committee on Narcotics Control.A meeting of the committee presided over by Salahuddin Ayubi was discussing the issue of shortage of resources faced by the ANF, but the minister suddenly turned the discussion towards Mr Sanaullah who was arrested in the narcotics case a few months ago.
`So far five judges have been changed and the trial is moving ahead at a snail`s pace. Every day I hear why the proof is not being submitted in court. Proof cannot be submitted unless trial of the case starts. We will show the evidence when the court starts the trial,` he said.-Ikram Junaidi
