SUKKUR: A police constable kissed martyrdom while chasing some suspects near a teashop within the jurisdiction of the Abad police station on Friday.
The manager of the teashop told local reporters that some of his regular customers engaged in a heated argument and unruly behaviour with a waiter over delay in serving them tea. A little later, one of the customers returned to the teashop with a pistol and opened fire on the walls near the shop’s counter. As soon as he drove away, a police constable, Akram Chachar, chased him on his bike. An exchange of fire between him and the customer took place at some distance. The constable received a fatal gunshot wound, the teashop manager said.
The constable’s body was taken to the Sukkur Civil Hospital for a postmortem examination and later handed over to the heirs.-Correspondent
