RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government plans to establish18Ramazanbazaars in the district where people will get edibles at subsidised rates and has asked the local administration to make arrangements in this regard.
As many as 11 Ramazan bazaars will be established in the city and cantonment areas and seven bazaars at tehsils including Murree, Gujar Khan, Taxila, Kotli Sattian, Kalar Syedan and Kahuta.
A senior official of the City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) told Dawn that Rawal Town and Potohar Town Municipal Administrations had been asked to allocate money for the establishment of temporary stalls.
He said that district market committees would purchase fruit and vegetable from farmers and sell it to citizens without any profit.
The Ramazan bazaars will be established at Committee Chowk, Shamsabad, Haideri Chowk, Khyaban-i-Sir Syed and Dhoke Hassu. Five bazaars will be established in cantonment areas including Chungi-22, Siham, Adiala Road and Gulzar-iQuaid. A Reporter
