Buzdar to complete term, asserts Chohan

GUJRAT: Punjab Information Minister Fiazul Hassan Chohan has ruled out any change in the office of the Punjab chief minister, saying that Usman Buzdar will complete the remaining three and a half years term as the CM `with complete authority and respect.
`I belong to Rawalpindi which is the neighbouring city of Islamabad and if you understand the importance of this location then let me tell you that the Punjab CM will complete his ten-ure which I have been saying for the last six months,` Mr. Chohan said while responding to a question by a media man.
`As far as reservations of the PTI`s allied parties are concerned let me clarify that they would be part of the coalition throughout the remaining tenure of three and a half years, he said talking to reporters at Gujrat Press Club here on Monday.
Earlier, the minister administered oath to the newly elected president of the press club, Mahmood Alchtar, and other office-bearers whereas GujratDeputy Commissioner Dr Khurrm Shahzad and District Police Officer Syed Touseef Haider were also present at the occasion. He said there was no crisis of flour in Punjab whereas the government had established at least 337 sale points and 181 truck points for the provision of commodity at control rates where so far 40,000 flour bags had been sold out of totally provided 50,000 bags.
However, he alleged that the flour crisis was actually created in Sindh due to the negligence of the [Sindh] chief minister as the provincial government had pro-cured only 100,000 ton of its total 400,000 ton wheat quota.
Responding to a question about government`s policy on granting permission to Maryam Nawaz to go to L ondon, he said af ter release of Nawaz Sharif`s picture sitting at a restaurant, Maryam had lost the ground that she wanted to take care of her ailing father in London where Nawaz`s scions and other family members were already present to look after him.
Criticising the erstwhile Shahbaz Sharif government, he said Mr. Sharif remained CM for 10 consecutive years but couldnot allegedly reform police, revenue (Patwar) and other fields but he (Shahbaz Sharif) had set up eight camp offices.
He lauded the media`s role on important national issues including that of highlighting Kashmir.
He said the system of releasing advertisements to newspapers had been automated and ads were being issued on merit; however the newspaper owners should also ensure the timely payment of salaries to their workers.
The minister also attended some ceremonies in Dinga and Kharian towns of the district.
