Teenage boy drowns in lake at Safari Park

KARACHl: Amid hot and sultry weather, three people, including a teenage boy bathing in a lake in the Safari Park, drowned in separate incidents on Thursday, police and rescue services said.
The Gulistan-i-Jauhar police said Islamuddin, 16, lost his life while swimming in the lake inside the sprawling Safari Park.
They said that a man, who identified himself as Muhammad Shabbir, informed the Madadgar-15 about the incident.
The body was recovered and sent to the Edhi morgue at Sohrab Goth.
In another incident, a man, identified as Farman Waliullah, 18, drowned while swimming in a reservoir at Manghopir near Noorani Hotel on Thursday.
The body was recovered and shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
In the third incident, five-year-old Sumair Akram drowned in the Hub canal.
The rescue services said the boy, along with his family, had gone there for a picnic.
The boy slipped, fell in the water and drowned, they added.
The body was sent to the Murshid Hospital.
Body found from sea An Edhi Foundation spokesperson said that the body of an unidentified man, aged around 30 years, was found floating in the sea at Ibrahim Hyderi.
The body was shifted to the Edhi morgue at Sohrab Goth for want of identification.
